Freedom is not Free what is the price of freedom on Memorial Day

Today, as the sun rises and casts its light upon this great land, we find ourselves gathered in a collective moment of remembrance and reflection.

Memorial Day holds a profound place in our hearts, serving as a poignant reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by those who have selflessly served this nation. As a Navy veteran and a patriot deeply committed to the ideals of freedom and our forefathers, this day resonates with me in ways that words can scarcely capture.

Memorial Day is not merely a long weekend or an opportunity for barbecues and outdoor adventures. It is a solemn occasion, a day dedicated to honoring the memory of the brave men and women who laid down their lives in defense of our liberties.

These heroes understood that the price of freedom is often paid in blood and sacrifice. They knew that to safeguard our way of life, some must give their all.

Let us remember that this day is not a celebration of Veterans, for there is another day set aside for that. Today, we honor those who are no longer with us, those who cannot stand beside us to share their stories and experiences.

It is a day of remembrance, a day to reflect on the true cost of our freedoms and to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

As we go about our lives, enjoying the freedoms and opportunities that this great nation affords us, let us never forget the sacrifices that made it all possible.

Let us take a moment of silence to honor their memory, to acknowledge their bravery, and to express our deepest gratitude.

Here is a poem to remind us of their sacrifice:

In Fields of Valor

In fields where courage once did bloom,
Lie those who faced the darkest gloom.
With hearts so bold and spirits high,
They marched ahead, prepared to die.

For freedoms that we cherish dear,
They stood and fought, despite the fear.
Their sacrifice, a solemn vow,
Is etched in time, remembered now.

We honor them, the brave, the few,
Who gave their lives for me and you.
In whispered winds, their voices call,
"Remember us, who gave it all."

Let not their memory fade away,
On this, our sacred, solemn day.
For in their honor, we must strive,
To keep their legacy alive.

Let us also renew our commitment to the values they fought to protect. Let us strive to live our lives in a way that honors their sacrifice, by cherishing our freedoms, upholding our Constitution, and always standing vigilant against threats to our liberty.

May God bless each and every one of you, and may He bless the memory of those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Let us never forget the cost of liberty, and let us honor their legacy by living lives worthy of their sacrifice.

God Bless you and yours.
